This design was created for a theoretical production of the classic fairy tale “The Snow Queen” set in the time period of 1624-1700. An additional challenge I had in designing these characters was that each design had to be based off of some kind of inanimate material. I chose to base both designs off of two materials traditionally used in doll-making to help illustrate the difference in class and character present, with the queen’s design being based off of fine porcelain, and Gerda’s based on linen rags
